My name is Franz Hermann Duckstein and I am currently in my second year of training. I am completing my training as an IT specialist for application development at Be in Magdeburg. Even without much prior knowledge of programming, I decided to take the plunge and enrol in this training programme at Be, and I am glad I made that decision.
My working day usually starts at 7:30 a.m. Once my computer has booted up, I start by checking my emails. Once I’ve dealt with those, I start working on my current project. At 8:30 a.m., all the employees in our department meet for the daily SCRUM. My current work is very multifaceted. In our area, we are currently working on redesigning existing software. This requires and promotes many different skills. If there are no meetings scheduled, my lunch break begins at 12:30 p.m. After lunch, I continue working until 4:00 p.m. That’s usually when my working day ends.
I really appreciate the working atmosphere at the Magdeburg site. Every employee here has their own personality, which means that work is never boring. At BE, we are given a certain degree of personal responsibility, which allows me to organise and carry out my tasks flexibly. I have always been fascinated by working with computers. That’s why I’m all the more delighted that I can expand my computer skills every day.
InIn my free time, I like to keep fit. To balance out my work at the computer, I regularly work out at the gym. Every year, I particularly look forward to participating in the company relay race, which focuses on team spirit and athletic motivation. I also like to use weekends for short trips to discover new places and gather fresh impressions..
